The other day I was in Claire's (the store) you know just... visiting. They were having a ten for $10 deal on earrings and various inexpensive accessories. Since I don't usually visit this store I was amazed at the amount of different lip glosses that they have. I took pictures but then she told me I couldn't take pictures in the store. So I took some pictures of the variety and then I saw one flavor of lip gloss that I found humorous.
They had all kinds of flavors. Even water flavored lip balm.
I was looking at the Apple website and it's like Apple is a religion. They have little tracts at their store and the ushers welcome you and may try to answer your questions. There are numerous testimonials on the website on how Macs make their life easier. To go to a Mac from Windows is called switching. Switching lifestyles.
Mac is selling a lifestyle and it spreads like one through personal witness.
The thing about sharing Jesus' love as a Christ follower is that we have to market like Apple. Some may think marketing is about money but what we learned at Boot Camp was that the true definition of marketing is. It's not about money, or selling a product, or even advertising or promotion. Marketing is in essence the way you present yourselves and then how others perceive you. This means we must be conscious of all our actions so that represent Christ in the proper light.
Last night at Bible study we learned that when someone shows Jesus' love, it's attractive and contagious! When you see someone do something kind, it automatically makes you want to rise up and do the same. It inspires you. It makes you say, "That person has something that I want." It's a character trait, it's a virtue, it's something really noble and excellent.
This is how we are to be with everyone. We are supposed to be set apart and holy, IN this world and not OF it. We need to be sharing love, inspiring others to love and in doing so we are loving God.
Apple is cool. Their products are attractive. Christians are supposed to be attractive because of their love. Start getting people to make the switch because they see something they don't have. Be open to answer people's questions about what you believe. The love that you share will be contagious.
My brain hurts. It hurts almost everyday. Some days it throbs to death, others it simmers down to a low boil until the water in the pot evaporates, in time, burning the teflon.
Right now I'm at work re-encoding some flv's that I plucked from facebook.
The computer is acting up. Bleh. I don't want to have to back up this computer.
