  • What time is it?

That's right, kids! High School Musical 2 comes out tomorrow. Or... I mean today...

Anyways... today was Lobey's Birfday and I'll make a proper post tomorrow if that's alright with you. I'm just here to share that summer is almost over... meaning I shall be able to update regularly. I better update because I only bought Xanga for LIFE. Yeah. That's right. I figured lifetime is a good deal of time. The longer I live... the cheaper it'll be.

I just want to share before I go to sleep that I like this new album I got off of iTunes. It's Britt Nicole and it's Christian Pop. Yeah. I usually don't like the "pop" that Christians put out besides Stacie Orrico or maybe the Rachel Lampa of old but this album is quite catchy. Check it out, yo.

  • The Hallelujah Roadshow - Day 34

    "Knitwits!"

The Hallelujah Roadshow is alive and well. I cannot believe how fast this summer has gone by. There is one more week left of Service Corps and I feel as if we have accomplished a lot. The road show has been an awesome experience.

We just left Oregon, the land of "it's illegal to pump my own gas so someone does it for me." Check out this lovely price.

We started off today with a bit of coloring and then knitting with a group of kids that visit seniors at a senior home. They call themselves the Knitwits. There we learned the ancient arts of knitting and crochet.

Steven had a spot of trouble but Matthew was a cheater because he has had years of experience knitting at home. By himself. In his room.

We moved on to do Vacation Bible School in an empty house on the lot of the future Gresham Corps. The kids arrive at 6pm and we go to about 9pm.

Shalini sets up the deflated ball for another rambunctious round of pilfer the pork (aka steal the bacon aka stealeth the soy bacon).

During coloring time I gave Larry boy a makeover for his costume to get it up to date. This is the bumblebee edition Larryboy. I like coloring.

Chris found these sunglasses in the corps and asked if he could posses them forever. The Major said, "Yea."

Surgery went smoothly. Matthew should be able to walk in a few days. Just kidding, Jimothy.

The Roadshow has one more week of music and laughter. Peace be with you.

  • Day 1 -- Hallelujah Road Show

We're alive! We made it to Sacramento, CA and have a brief span of internet time. The team is all super dee douper tired and rightfully so. Even though most were sleeping in the car all day... Loreen, Steven and I drove the vans of power.

Here are some pictures of orientation as we're becoming oriental.

I don't have any pictures of today because everyone else took pictures besides me. I do not know why.

Tomorrow is a full day of feeding the homeless and evangelizing. I better go to sleep.

I shall be updating the Service Corps Blog if I am unable to get internet.  So check there too.

  • High School Musical

For the first time in a million years, it really feels like the weekend.

Here's my final performance with my classmate for our school's musical. It's a mere two minutes. Gain amusement.

  • Final week

It's the final week of school meaning finals week. I think I have seen the sun rise for 5 days in a row now. It's not that fun. Soon all of this shall be over... soon... not soon enough...

I'm going back to editing. Good bye, Dave.

  • Sweetest Thing

    familycrop

This Mother's Day I wanted to do something special for mama. However the day was quite packed and my schedule was quite busy so I couldn't think of anything original in time. I was thinking... okay I'll make a collage of her sons (as I sometimes do for mother's day) and then hang it up so that when she wakes up it'll be outside for her to see. Alas, finals caved in and took all my time and energy.

Two Cents is a column in the newspaper that gets opinions of regular folk and sometimes prints it in the San francisco Chronicle. They email me and sometimes they print my quote with a picture of my head. So they emailed me and asked me "What's the sweetest thing your mother ever did for you?". I thought that if I came up with a really good answer then they could print it and that would be a mother's day gift for mama.

I thought and thought and thought but couldn't think of the sweetest thing. I didn't want to write any old thing. Well the deadline passed and Mother's day rushed by with hectic rushedness.

Then I finally realized why I couldn't think of the sweetest thing my mother did for me. It was because everything she does is the sweetest thing she can do for me. When she gets me food, takes me to the Target, buys me stuff, tells me to wash my dish and asks me why I'm not doing my homework. My mom loves me with every single ounce of her being and I appreciate every last bit of it even if I don't really feel like I do when she asks me to clean all the toilets or go to sleep.

In service today during testimony time they asked for three people to stand up to give their testimony about why they appreciate their mom. I thought that was perfect because praise in public shows others how much you appreciate someone as well as the person. I was going to stand up and give my testimony however I knew I wouldn't be able to make it through without crying so I just sat there and let someone else have a chance.

Alas, this is my tribute to what I appreciate most about my mom. It is when she prays everyday. It is her example. When I see her make the most important part of her life to seek God first, that is the most appreciated thing she can do.

Mama, thank you for showing us love by having strong convictions in God and instilling in us the values that we shall not depart from. Thank you for being the source of this family's gentleness and compassion. Thank you for loving us with everything that you are.

    I love you, mama.
